For long-staying Residents, the first decision to make is choosing a location. Location is very important because it will decide how long it takes for you to drive to work and back. This shouldn't be a problem in Grand Cayman as the island is relatively small. But this will become an issue because the time you spend driving back and forth could be the same time you could use hanging out at the beach during sunset or taking a dip in the Caribbean ocean before heading back home. Choosing a location is completely a personal preference.

- George Town- the central hub or main town of Grand Cayman, most businesses are located in this area so finding an apartment within GT limits could prove advantageous.
- West Bay - Less expensive rentals can be found here as it is a longer drive into town. Traffic can be backed up during rush hours in the morning and early evening but please note, traffic in Grand Cayman is not as stressful as traffic in the big cities. While you are sitting in the car waiting for your turn, you can sit back and watch the amazing scenary of the beach beside West Bay road.
- Seven Mile Beach - the more expensive rentals are located here and is where most tourists rent because it is on Seven Mile Beach. Long term rentals are also found on Seven Mile Beach and are mostly luxury rentals for executives. There are less expensive rentals though but the issue might be because it is located right next to a noisy bar, which might not be a problem for everybody.
- South Sound - Very close to George Town and depending on the complex can be medium to upscale - great location!
- Prospect (near Grand Harbour) - Cheaper rentals but again a bit further north and traffic can get crazy in the mornings. But a practical location nevertheless.
- Bodden Town - furthest north so cheaper rentals than any other location, except for those found in East End or North Side
